Keep the room softly lit while using a computer or watching TV.
Position the source of light according to your comfort when you are doing close work or reading a book or any other printed material.
Take occasional breaks when you are doing close work.
Try to limit your screen time.
You can also use over-the-counter artificial tears.
Improve indoor air quality.
Choose the right eyewear.
Use an adjustable lamp when you are reading or writing.
You are likely to suffer from eye strain if you use a computer. Take the following steps to prevent eye strain:
Refresh your eyes by blinking more often.
Give your eyes a break and follow the 20-20-20 rule.
Reduce glare by placing an anti-glare cover over your computer screen.
Adjust monitor correctly.
Adjust screen settings.
Place your documents in a document holder when you need to read these documents while using the computer.
If you experience persistent eye strain that causes irritation, it may be a symptom of some other conditions such as the dry eye. Your doctor may recommend an electric dry eye mask if you are diagnosed with dry eyes.
